The Palm Island Estate

When you make that first left turn from the causeway leaving Miami towards Miami Beach, you arrive at the gate house at palm Island--which is a gated community, very tropical and lush with palm trees, some small and others very tall. The gate house is guarded not by a private security firm, but by the Miami Beach Police Department.
